Felisa Federman is our most esteemed and widely exhibited resident artist

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Felisa Federman has lived in Maryland with her family since 1991. She graduated from the Buenos Aires Fine Arts Academy in 1985, where she studied fiber art techniques, as well as painting and drawing. She currently works as both an Art and Spanish instructor in the Washington greater area. She has volunteer at her children schools and other art programs also.
She was one of the artist's featured in the article; “An artists among us” by Insight Magazine,2007.
Her artwork is in the permanent collection of The Latino Museum of History, Art and Culture, Los Angeles.
Federman is a multifaceted painter, a fiber and assemblage artist who is continually reinventing herself. Her mixed media assemblages are conceived as puzzles that allow strong sensory experience to lead the viewer into a fragile world. Her works contemplate reality from both a conceptual and abstract standpoint. The surfaces present dynamic, active areas opposed to calmer ones, which attenuate coexisting allusions of reality with abstract forms. She rivets the viewer’s attention with this weird atmosphere of virtual reality. “My goal is to create a diffuse atmospheric space where people can be drawn in, and find the possibility to see or not to see... The compositions are planned like puzzles to attract the viewer’s attention and sensibility, inviting them into a fragile world full of strong sensory atmosphere. Abstract art is something that few people can understand, so I use simple and familiar images to engage
them.”
She had shown her work nationally and internationally:
Santa Reparata Art School, Florence, Italy;
Alain Prillard Gallery, Saint Cirq-Lapopie, France. Galeria 0+0 Gestion;
Cultural, Valencia, Spain. Museo Fundacional, Centro Cultural Rivadavia;
Mendoza, Expotrastienda Art Fair, RG en el Arte in Buenos Aires in
Argentina.
